Dear Parents,
The children have enjoyed a busy week, with extra-curricular activities running before, during and after school. Also, there have been two trips out of school to support Learning Challenge questions. Year 3 travelled back in time to the Stone Age (albeit in the school hall!) and Year 4 travelled to Chester to experience life in the Rome Empire! These sensory experiences introduce topics in an exciting and memorable way. In assembly, the children were encouraged to realise that everyone is important and that all of our varying skills and talents are valuable.

Harvest Festival
We are holding our annual Harvest Festival Assembly on Tues. 26th September and traditionally, on this occasion, we ask the children to bring in Harvest gifts which are subsequently distributed to local charities. If you would like to contribute, there is a letter on the LETTERS page of the website - kingsij.co.uk which suggests the food items which are most helpful to the charities. Thank you for your support.
Musical Marketplace – Advance notice!
If your child is interesting in learning a musical instrument, the Musical Marketplace on Weds. 11th October gives pupils the chance to try a variety of instruments and for parents, to meet the Instrumental Staff who will be able to offer information and advice about instruments and lessons. The Marketplace will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the CUMBERLAND STREET HALL and all pupils must be accompanied by a parent. Please see the flier on the LETTERS page.

Welcome Back Coffee Morning
We hope you enjoyed the Coffee Morning, and that new parents are starting to feel more settled and have made some valuable contacts. If anyone is interested in joining the committee as a way of meeting more parents, please do get in touch, as we really appreciate new faces and ideas at our committee meetings.
Our first Infant & Junior committee meeting is next Friday 22nd September at 2pm in the Dining Hall. Everyone welcome!

Winter Wonderland Ball, Hilltop Country House, Prestbury
Tickets, priced at £55, are now available on ParentPay for what promises to be a great night out on Friday 17th November! If you have any queries, please email winterball@kingsmac.co.uk and we will reply asap.
Year 6 Jersey Sports Tour
Once again our Year 6 pupils will be travelling to Jersey for their annual sports tour during the Easter Holidays in 2018.  We would like to invite Year 6 parents, with their child, to a presentation about the trip on Monday, 25th September, which will be held in the Fence Avenue Main Hall from 5:00-5:30 pm.
Parking and Dropping Off Arrangements
Please note that the parking facilities at the top of Lime Grove are for dropping off and collection of EYFS and Year One pupils only. Please ensure that your blue car park permit is clearly displayed on your car windscreen and parked within the marked bays.  I would also ask these parents to exit the Car Park as soon as they have collected their children in order to make room for others.
We aim to be a good neighbour to the houses on Lime Grove. Therefore, please do not park over driveways. We have recently received complaints from householders who have been unable to leave their properties. Some parents have also parked too close to the entrance to the Infant Car Park making it difficult for cars to enter and exit. We ask for your support with this matter to ensure that all have a safe and trouble-free start and end to the school day.
